Italian Display Case with Marquetry – 20th Century

This Italian display cabinet is a collector's piece that epitomizes the elegance of 20th century European furniture. Made with a master marquetry technique, the piece stands out for its noble woods, whose natural grain creates organic and deep patterns, framed by delicate handcrafted fretwork and ebonized details that enhance its classic silhouette.
History and Style
The design is inspired by the refinement of Italian Neoclassicism, adapted to the functionality of the middle of the last century. The column display cases or “vitrines de présentation” were conceived to display personal treasures—from fine porcelain to antique watches—providing a 360-degree view thanks to their glass sides and mirrored bottom, which doubles the light and depth of the pieces on display.
Decoration and Placement
Due to its timeless aesthetics, this piece fits masterfully into a Classic, Neoclassical decoration or even in an Eclectic environment where a warm and sophisticated point of contrast is sought.
Ideal location: It is perfect to flank a main entrance, occupy a prominent corner in the living room or as an accent piece in an elegant office.
Why buy it: Its vertical structure optimizes space without giving up decorative luxury. The top marble countertop not only provides stability, but allows you to place an additional sculpture or light fixture, turning it into a functional and artistic pedestal.
