Vintage Anglo-Indian Chairs in Sheesham Wood and Brass Inlays

Introducing this pair of Anglo-Indian accent chairs, dating from the mid-20th century and manufactured for the high-end export market. Constructed of solid Sheesham (Indian Rosewood) wood, known for its durability and distinctive grain, these chairs feature a hybrid silhouette that fuses curule shapes with traditional Indian ornamentation. The highlight of this set is the intricate metal inlay work, with brass bands and medallions meticulously engraved and hammered into the wood, showcasing the Tarkashi artisanal technique. The vintage condition is excellent, with a rich patina and no significant structural cracks. The symmetry and level of detail make this pair a rare and desirable find for collectors of colonial furniture or interior designers looking for authentic pieces with a historical vibe for projects on the Costa del Sol. Includes detailed measurements and high resolution photographs to verify the quality of the marquetry.”
