A Glance at Its History and Decorative Style

The Louis XV style was born in 18th century France as a rebellion against the rigid symmetry of the previous Baroque, prioritizing lightness, comfort and sensual curves. The technique of marquetry—the art of inlaying small pieces of wood to form pictorial patterns and motifs—reached its peak during this period thanks to the masters cabinetmakers Parisians. This piece pays tribute to that golden era of splendor, combining the organic warmth of noble woods with the mineral nobility of marble and the distinction of bronze.
