A large format fan to give character to any wall. Its black fabric, with cranes, bamboo and flowers in gold, pink and blue tones, creates a very elegant contrast. It is ideal for a hall, living room, bedroom or reading area with an oriental feel.

Materials and details: black fabric with decoration of cranes in flight between bamboo canes and small flowers. The edge has a decorative white stitching and the ribs are made of bamboo.

History and style: the crane is a symbol of longevity, fortune and fidelity in Chinese and Japanese culture, and bamboo represents resistance and flexibility. These motifs were very popular in chinoiserie, the European fashion for the oriental that was born in the 17th century and remained alive in the decoration of the 20th century. Large wall fans were made as decorative objects, often for export, and remain highly sought after. This piece is a vintage decorative work.
